Recently, I went into a very rowdy kindergarten class to read Dr. Seuss. Because of the class’s reputation I used the iPad for
Green Eggs and Ham, thinking they would be transfixed by something moving on a screen. I’m not sure how unrowdy it made the kids. Lots of kids were yelling out – “How did you turn the pages?” and “What’s that Red thing?” (the red dot shows as an indicator on how and when to swipe across the page.)
The kids were asking for Media Literacy Guidance! I’m afraid I missed this teachable moment. Next time.
