Nominate a Book App for the Cybils!
Nominations for the Cybils, the children’s and young adult bloggers’ literary awards, started Tuesday, October 1st and will wrap up on October 15th. That means you’ve got a little over a week left in which you–yes, YOU!–should nominate a book you think is worthy of recognition. And guess what, Little eLit-ers: there’s even a Book Apps category! Here are some basic guidelines, provided by Mary Ann Scheuer, who is overseeing the Book Apps category this year:
- Each person can nominate one book in each category
- Books must have been published between October 16, 2012 and October 15, 2013
- For apps, this means they must have been originally released during this time frame
- Book apps must be available on the iTunes App Store
- Books must be specifically published for children and young adults
If you’ve experimented with using book apps with the children in your lives, whether at work or in your personal life, please consider nominating apps that you think provide great reading experiences for children and young adults.
Check out the Cybils FAQ for more guidelines. The description of the Book App Category can give you more information as well.
Once again: nominations run through October 15. Take a few minutes to nominate your favorite books that were published in the last year–especially your favorite book app. The Cybils are a great resource recommendation tool for many professionals, and this is your opportunity to make sure they find out about the app you love! Head to the Cybils site to find out more information.
